Lol i think he was still looking for a way to get a free "cracked" download....lol. only thing with that is: would it work with the imbedded "punkbuster"? that damn thing can be pretty testy sometimes. when i uninstalled my previous cod, cod uo, and cod2, little did i know that my cod4 "punkbuster" was downloading to those files and using that file path instead of the one on cod4. when i finally figured it out - after getting kicked several times for "punkbuster failure" - i was greatly relieved that i didn't lose anything regarding my multiplayer ranks etc. i would be careful trying to use a cracked version |

Install It Man, Dam It, Install It Why would he want a free download cracked version? He has the game CD. He Must Install----------And Stop The Stall-- I got that one from OJ's Attorney Cochran. He just don't want to lose his 1 ping from his Breakthough Server, lol. |

cod4 $39.99 today at best buy in todays sunday ads for best buy - cod 4 $39.99 (1/6/08) it's definetly not going to adversely effect your cpu if that's what some folks are procrastinating for. activision /infinity ward (the developer) DID NOT pull an EA and try to go over and beyond most peoples cpu limits. a cpu bought in the last 3 years or so, updated and with updated vid driver should handle it no prob. direct x9 capable card or ati equivelant. i checked to see how much usage occurs when i'm playing and it's really minimal 17% or so - that's with the firewall, teamspeak, intel audio studio all running - set to optimal settings (in game menu that sets your cpu to it's best visual / playable ability). try the demo if you dont know if you want to invest or if you think you may have cpu issues, i think you'll be surprised! |

Member Concerns My thoughts on the efforts of players Not venturing the COD4 game are this. Take note, these last 6 months, on our Clanless server. Even the regular players do not spend 1/2 as much time on there anymore. The ones who do frequent the server, for some reason, elect not to move forward. And this can be for many reasons, the work front arena has changed, family life styles change, lack of interest in the 1st person shooter game deminishes. And for some, the idea of leaving a comfort zone of the Clanless Server plays a factor here. Lets face it, we have had a great time though the years with an enormous thanks to Johnny and Zetors. In summary, like Tinny states, everyone that has played on our Breathough server, should with no issues, be able to play on the COD4. I for one would like to see our members come aboard and join us, Tinman, Hun, Thwack, and sometines Dave stops by to play. Tinman and I have been researching the possibilities of starting a [Clanless] server we can all call home, with all of the mods we have been accustomed to throughout the years. No Run & Guns!! I have also made note, that the responses on these message boards are few, if any at all. I would like to hear everyones thoughts on this and most welcome any feedback on moving forward from our members. |

if only.. if for one would really enjoy shootin my old clanless buds in cod4, as in previous posts, the control of game types, mods etc is growing for cod4, but a couple of things i have noticed: if only more of our own could post their thoughts here in the boards, any questions or concerns about the game. the controls really aren't that far away from what we're used to except for the addition of iron sights use - this can be toggled on or off if you'd rather not. nostromo works real well here as expected but i still can hear snipe hammer his keyboard so it's not that far removed. if only we had a larger interest, we could set up or rent a server (probably easiest), seems most if not all of the 14,000 + jammed packed servers are rented through the same company, they seem to go through the same port. i'll try to dig up more info on setting one up (either way) through the CODHQ message board, the guy that runs the site seems real on top of his game. speaking of codhq - apparently this guy hosts a "friday night frag" game, where he GIVES AWAY stuff randomly to people on his server. vid cards, laptop equip. and even server rental for a specified time with the option to take it over (maintenace / cost) after. like snipe said - would like to hear more from our members. |

CoD4 Believe it or not there are some of us that have machines that just make the cut for MoH, that being the case there will be some that cant/wont upgrade for CoD4. Then there are the ones that like the 'feel' of MoH and have no desire to move on from what we have. I happen to be one of the latter. Although I do come here more for the friendship than the game. Unlike most of the group I have had the honor to meet Johnny, Gretel and Zetors face to face. Everyone knows Non and I have been friends way longer than we have been playing MoH. My absence was fortold before I got promoted. Now that I have been my shift is 3pm-11pm by the time I get home no one is playing. I am however off for the next three days and do plan to get on and kill. If things go my way by August I will be 12:30-8:30pm. As far as CoD4 It is a great game for single player but I still prefer the 'feel' and game play of MoH for multiplayer. On top of that there are very limited choices for rifles in CoD4. I prefer rifles only and always have. You dont really get that for CoD4. There are two maybe three rifles in CoD4 as opposed to ten in MoH. You also have to factor in that not that many people have Breakthrough. Every time I go on game spy there over 200 people playing MoHAA around 40 playing Spearhead and maybe a dozen playing Breakthrough. However I havd found the numbers they show are lower than what is really playing. For instance I just checked and the left column said 4 but when I looked at the server list there where 24 playing Breakthrough. What I am getting at is it's a numbers game. Less people purchased the expansion packs. Although lately I have seen a large number of guests coming in. Now take this into consideration. We get a lot of bozos on the server now. If we should convert to CoD4 the number of bozos will skyrocket. I for one dont really want to deal with them. It has taken us a long time to get things the way we want. Do we really need or want to start over? Also If we do convert we may loose a few or more. Perhaps see if there are enough people interested to pay for a server. |

Cod4 v Breakthru Agree with Dozer on this one, prefer Breakthru although will continue playing Cod4 if for no other reason than to get top ranking,Cod4 needs more maps and no doubt they will come.Us Scots players have the 5 hour time difference working against us on the server but I always check and as soon as someone logs in I jump in quicksharpish.Love the crack on our server and it is run well.Theres still plenty of new maps out there for Breakthru going by the number of servers i can't get into from time to time.Anyway whatever happens i will see some of you's on whichever game you are all on. |

Thank You For Your Replies Thank you for the replies. I respect both of you, Doz and Thwack for you input. And I agree with both of you for the most part. Let me make a point here, I am in no way suggesting we abandon Zetors server on Breakthough. I like everyone else feel we have a family here and I am in no way leaving home. This server is home to me and always will be. My reasoning behind my postings was to generate feedback. As far as the Bozo's, I find myself shutting down cod4 because of the sterotype assholes on it, and Tinman can attest to this. I have never played a game that pisses me off more then COD4. I just thought I would put it out there and get a feel for the idea of getting a server for "US" and limiting the player numbers to just "US" with a password to access only the [Clanless] members, and that will keep all of the Bozo's out. On a final note, I am guilty of not being "home" as often as I have been. This is only due to the back to back releases of Airborne & COD4. To say the least I am getting a little tired of the common servers on COD4 and look forward to getting back home more often. |

there wil always be bozos...lol yes there will always be the bozos. i was thinking along the lines of what snipe was getting at. dont get me wrong, i still like Breakthrough, but i can't help but be drawn to the idea of a more modern combat arena. those that do have it can back this up, it just really, really, looks great. rifles may be limited a bit but as far as Breakthrough goes, most people only go for the M1 only most of the time anyhow. i myself and a few others, although i'm sure the numbers are there to back it up that they're the same, feel that all the rest of the rifles are slower. that's why no one uses the kar and except for snipey No One ever uses the carcano. they're just not even to me for some reason. a split and i mean split second between the 1st shot and the next make all the difference with us. we have a ton of skins but most dont get used because we mostly grab the ones that have an M1. since i've last been on, admittedly it's been awhile, i've hardly seen any sniper maps either. remember the fun and rush of sneaking around and getting the drop on someone? except for the few regs, there has been an increase in guests i've seen, we dont normally have enough to do a sniper map. that all being said, i'll still divide my time betweeen BT and COD4. like snipe said this is still home, still the best people. i would like to see more in COD4 but so be it. if you have it and i'm in the channel look me up. i have provided a small server list in another post. try BPC - i was on their TS - mostly adults, one even sounded like our dave...lol. |

Sniff sniff Although I have not been playing, I have been keeping up with the the postings. Sniper, you are one funny guy. COD4 is not an option for me due to videocard. Upgrade is possible, but not at the moment. I love love love Breakthrough and will get my ass online more often. And Dozer, you are a gentleman and a friend. Love, Gretel (too girly?) |

this may help A password is a good idea but sometimes it's good to have a few guests in especially when they behave. As far as the rifles go Z and I have both worked on the mod and I can assure you all rifles fire at the same rate 1.5 seconds (stock for the Enfield) between shots. It's all a graphics rendering perseption issue. The graphics are set to display the action at a set speed. By using the mod we changed that speed and the graphics have trouble adjusting. Where people perseve a difference is in the graphics rendering. We finally figured out Snipers "rifleman" issue with the carcano was due to this. By changing the speed between shots we confuse the game graphics. The carcano before the mod if I remember correctly was slower than the rest and the M1 was MUCH faster. If you look closely when the carcano does the "rifleman" thing this is what happens. A shot is fired and the bolt has to be cycled, because of the change in time between shots the hand appears to cycle the bolt however the graphics of the bolt cycle hasnt caught up with the action and the rifle stays in the hand cycling the bolt making it look like it is being spun. Next time you are on the server watch someone with a carcano. The right hand/arm will make the same motion as if cycling the bolt. That issue doesnt appear with the M1 because the stock rate of fire is something like .1 (a tenth) of a second. The M1 being semi auto wont be affected by the mod like the rest of the weapons. The other rifles dont do the "rifleman thing" because they are faster than the carcano stock and dont have as much time to be confused by the mod/graphics issue above. The perseption is more noticeable during the 'dance of death' with two or sometimes more rifles being fired in close quaters. It's kind of like during an accident when things seem to be in slow motion. Again it's all in 'your' perseption. Gretel, you and Johnny welcomed Non and I into your home and treated us like family after knowing us for only a short time. Both of you have shown nothing but class and friendship to all of us. If it wasnt for you two none of us would be here now. I look forward to the next time we can spend some time together. As far as the 'girly' thing I expect nothing less from you. |

Sniff Sniff Reply It was a pleasure to see your comments Gretel! I try to keep them laughing all the time, till I die. That's the way I go through life. I, unfortunetly did not have the pleasure of meeting Johnny and Yourself, Like Doz and Non, but I have always respected the both of you for all that you have done for us. And when you log on the server, your like a "Breath Of FreshAir". You are so charming, polite, and a true pleasure to know and be with. Dozer hit the nail on the head. It's not so much about the game, it's all the friends we met on the server along the way, we are family, and truely care for one another, and we have the both of you to thank for our little family. I said to Dozer one day a very long time ago, where else can you go to drink, hang out with friends, laugh, have a good time,,,,,,,The Clanless Server Of Course! |
